Frequently Asked Questions

Q) What are my payment options?

A) We are in network with Anthem/BCBS PPO plans and most Aetna plans as well as Medicare Part B and will bill them directly for their portion or to know your amount owed for your deductible. If you don't have insurance or if your plan is out of network with our clinic, don't worry. We make sure to keep our rates affordable and will provide you with a "Superbill" that you can send to your insurance company for out of network benefits. Our clinic has the ability to accept credit, debit, cash, checks, and HSA/FSA benefits for payment.

Remember, only visits that are treating an acute injury or an active flare-up can be billed to your insurance company. Health insurance works like car insurance: your insurance company agrees to pay for you to get back to how you felt before the accident/injury (or as close to that as possible). However, they aren't going to pay for your oil changes or tire rotations. Insurance carriers see maintenance and wellness visits the same way they see an oil change. Helpful, probably even necessary, but not their financial responsibility. If you'd like to opt for maintenance or wellness care, we offer the same affordable rates that we do for all self-pay services and visits.

Q) What should I expect during my visits?

A) Your first visit will include a significant amount of time spent with our doctor going over your medical history as well as the history of your current complaint or injury. During this time, we'll make sure that you understand your injury and how to recover from it. As long as there are no red flags found during the examination and history, treatment will start that day and our doctor will recommend a treatment plan to get you to your goal and back to living a happy and healthy life.

Q) How many visits do I need?

A) This depends heavily on your response to treatment as well as your starting point and personal goals. Current clinical guidelines recommend 2-3 visits per week in 2-4 week "trials". Mild cases generally resolve in the first 2-4 weeks, moderate cases should respond within 4-8 weeks, and severe cases may take greater than 8 weeks to recover. By working in these 2-4 week blocks of time, we can look back at the previous weeks to measure our progress and understand where you are vs where you want to be. That being said, many of our patients see faster results than the guidelines predict.

Q) I heard that you have to go to a chiropractor forever once you start going... is that true?

A) While some patients elect to continue with maintenance or wellness visits (much like they would with a monthly massage), most patients only come to the clinic when they want to recover from an injury or work toward a specific goal. Once that goal is met, most people return back to their normal lives until another issue pops up.

Q) Is chiropractic care safe?

A) The treatments provided at our clinic are extremely low risk. Chiropractors traditionally have one of the lowest costs across medical providers for their malpractice insurance. That being said, we make sure to perform an extremely in-depth first visit so that we can weigh any potential risks related to your medical history and make the best choice for you. The most common side effect from treatments provided in our office would be muscle soreness related to treatment or exercise.

 Q) Do I need a referral?

A) It is not necessary to have a referral to a chiropractor unless it is specifically required by your insurance company.
